While ‘sub/satellite’ systems are nothing new, most models have been developed using a sci-fi aesthetic - futuristic shapes created from mass produced moulded casings - which is all well and good, but it’s not the kind of hand crafted product expected by the most discerning enthusiasts.

The L-ite’s classic styling, superior build, and hand-finished piano-gloss make the system a proud addition to any home with a passion for quality audio.

Ac o u s t i c a l l y, the L-ite system boasts a fine heritage:- derived from Quad’s multiple-award-winning L-series range of speakers, it’s a performance that leaves other brands in the shade.

Technological advances, combined with skill, experience and unique production methods have created a Home Theatre system with an acoustic performance that is a rare find.

The Quad L-ite is the first compact cinema system from Quad - a classic 5.1 channel configuration, which can be expanded to 7.1 with the addition of extra satellite speakers.

Using the same unique technology and styling that has made the Quad L-series one of the most popular audiophile loudspeakers in the market today; the L-ite offers a sparkling performance exceeding that of most full-size systems.

Combined with a subwoofer that offers microprocessor controlled filter circuitry, and remote control operation, the satellites blend seamlessly to create a full audio spectrum without any of the loss through the crossover region which plagues other models on the market.

The Quad L-ite is a system you can really be proud of. The clean styling and dazzling piano-gloss lacquer adds a real touch of class. Each of the seven layers of gloss are applied by hand and polished to a high sheen before the next layer's added. The quality of the finish gives the system

Satellite speakers

The Quad L-ite satellite and centre channel all use drive units derived directly from the L-series models. The bass cones are made from woven KEVLAR® for strength and speed, mounted on a curved leg cast-alloy chassis and a hightension spider for tight control of movement.

The 25mm soft dome tweeter has a high excursion for improved dynamic response, being driven with an in-house designed and manufactured ‘rare-earth’ magnet assembly. To keep composure even under heavy loads, an aluminium voice coil has been used.

Because we design and manufacture everything in-house, every element of each drive unit is designed in synergy and manufactured to meet strict quality criteria. This ensure superb reliability and a lifetime of consistent performance.

Centre channel

Whilst tonal continuity across the LCR (i.e front channels) of a home cinema system is indeed essential, the loading of audio across these channels tends to be un-even, with the centre channel undertaking most of the vocal work. To optimise the design of the Quad L-ite system, the centre
channel is uniquely equipped to handle this frequency range, having an extra bass driver. In most systems, this could lead to horizontal ‘lobing’ of the soundstage due to phase

Subwoofer

The Quad L-ite subwoofer is itself derived from another ‘best-in-class’: the remarkable Quad L-subwoofer. Identical in every way, except 5/6 the size, and with a 10” rather than 12” driver, the L-ite subwoofer is compact - yet packs a powerful punch.

The microprocessor controls the switching between six discrete analogue bass filter stages, adjustable in 10Hz steps between 35 and 85Hz. Phase and volume can also be adjusted, and up to four groups of settings can be stored in memory and recalled at the press of a button. This is especially useful, allowing the user to have different settings for different types of programme material, or between movies and music, or even different settings for nightime and daytime use.

Furthermore, all settings can be adjusted from the actual listening position with the fully-featured remote control supplied.

L-ite Satellites

Despite its size, the L-ite Satellite boasts the finest top to bottom cohesion you will find in a loudspeaker of this scale. Performing well beyond its dimensions, the L-ite is articulate and musical - providing the listener with a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Each of the L-ite Satellites is able to be mounted on standard 1/4” threaded wall brackets; the system gives you incredible flexibility enabling you to create the perfect configuration for your living space. The choice of real wood or silver finishes means they blend in perfect harmony with your
existing decor.

L-ite Subwoofer

The satellite speakers and the centre channel are capable of astonishing bass performance, rolling off slowly below 70 H z . Unlike other sub-sat systems, this means the L-ite Subwoofer can operate as a proper subwoofer in a home cinema system rather than having to cover higher frequencies or leaving a big hole in the all-important mid-range.

The L-ite sub uses a tri-laminate 10” driver, which is both fast and light, in a sealed enclosure for extremely fast damping. With a complete absence of bass overhang or resonance, the L-ite sub is remarkable in its own right,
holding its own in the company of far bigger and more expensive units.

Although smaller than the L-series subwoofer, the L-ite Subwoofer still retains the incredibly powerful 300 WRMS amplifier of its bigger brother, and the high performance discrete signal path filters.
